- So on Saturday 12th March, I was featured in the Western Morning News. The photographer, Emily, came to my home saying the session would only take around an hour, three and half hours later, she was still here. Below are three of the countless photos she took. The results are lovely and I must say it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be…well, no, I lie. It was awkward as hell – I do hate having my photo taken.
I hope he forgives my use of it, may he sail forever through the stars on his discworld.
- When I said to my editor I’d do lots of promotion, I didn’t realise how hard it would be, and how much time it would take (please see an earlier post I did on this subject). For instance, I’ve got two slots at the Tavistock Arts & Literature Festival coming up. They’re two hours each – that’s a lot of time to fill talking about how I came to writing, about writing itself, about The Cracked Amulet, doing a reading and a Q&A, and I’m not afraid to say I’ve got stage-fright worse than ever I’ve ever had before. I’ve been watching youtube sessions of authors to see how they did it, then I’ll have to write my own talk, and practice it.
- If anyone is interested the dates are: Saturday 9th April and Saturday 21st May in Tavistock library, the sessions start at 10am and finish, if I stay the course, at 12pm.
- Don’t shoot me, but I’m hoping to do some jokes, or at least be a little jocular, maybe just a pun or two, a dry turn of phrase perhaps, come on guys, help me out here…
